Ningbo has grown up alongside water and flourished due to it. How can we inherit and innovate its water culture? What archaeological discoveries have been made related to Ningbo's water heritage? And how should water-related cultural heritage, with museums as its carrier, be protected, interpreted, and utilized?
On November 24, 2023, at a Ningbo Water Culture Forum themed "Inheritance, Innovation, and Exploration," held in Yinjiang Town, Haishu District, where the Tashan Weir, a World Heritage Irrigation Structure, is located, numerous renowned experts and scholars in the field of water culture from China offered their ideas and suggestions, collectively discussing ways to conserve and transmit Ningbo's water culture, and planning the path for the protection, utilization, and development of Tashan Weir, as well as the construction of the Ningbo Irrigation Heritage Museum.
